As such, we will be operating an emergency only telephone triage system. Thus, if you have a dental emergency (severe pain, swelling, trauma or bleeding) tomorrow 24th January, please contact the practice on 0141 800 7876 and listen to the voicemail message for further instructions.
We appreciate your understanding and hope to reopen as normal at 8am on Monday 27th January. For emergencies out of hours and over the weekend please contact NHS 24 on 111.

Upcoming changes to NHS Dentistry
November 2023
As valued patients of Comfort Dental, we wanted to take the time to inform you of the upcoming changes the Scottish Government is enacting for NHS dentistry in Scotland.
The Scottish Government has undertaken a full review of the provision of NHS dentistry in Scotland and is making significant changes.
These changes will take effect on the 1st November 2023. The amendments and variations being made to the existing regulations are to better reflect the present realities of NHS dentistry in Scotland.

As valued patients of Comfort Dental, we wanted to take the time to inform you of the upcoming changes the Scottish Government is enacting for NHS dentistry in Scotland.
The Scottish Government has undertaken a full review of the provision of NHS dentistry in Scotland and is making significant changes.
These changes will take effect on the 1st November 2023. The amendments and variations being made to the existing regulations are to better reflect the present realities of NHS dentistry in Scotland.
The following changes will include:
- A change in the number of treatments available
- How often those treatments can be provided to patients
- An increase in costs if you currently pay for treatment (these fees are set by the Scottish Government and are out-with our control).
- The frequency you will be able to attend for an NHS dental examination. This will be based on your individual clinical need. For most patients this will mean a change from 6 monthly NHS examinations, to between 12-24 months. Your dentist will inform you how this change may affect you personally when you attend for your next examination appointment.
- Denture repairs will now incur a charge of £50.88 for NHS fee paying patients.
- All emergency appointments will have an associated fee for NHS fee paying patients.
